The Higher Tourism School in Belgrade
The Higher Tourism School in Belgrade was founded in 1967 and, as a state institution, has the longest tradition in training personnel for the tourism industry. Since May 2019, it has been part of the Belgrade Academy of Applied Studies. The school is the organizer of the First Belgrade International Tourism Conference – BITCO 2012, titled “Modern Tourism: Desires and Opportunities,” which attracted many experts from around the world. The faculty and students of the Higher Tourism School actively participate in the organization and realization of numerous professional events, conferences, and fairs (such as the International Festival of Tourism and Ecological Film “SILAFEST,” the International Film and Music Festival “Kustendorf,” the Belgrade Tourism Fair, “LORIST” in Novi Sad, etc.). The school also publishes a scientific-professional journal, “Tourism Business,” where articles on tourism theory and practice are published. The Higher Tourism School places great emphasis on culture and sports and therefore has the KUD VTŠ “Novi Beograd” folklore group, the VTŠ dance group, and a sports society, which have achieved significant success at various events and competitions. The school also organizes an international graphic competition in the category of academic graphic artists and final-year students of art academies, as well as a contest for the most beautiful photographs of Serbia, titled “The Beautiful Face of Serbia.”
