“Ancient Cults, New Visuals” – An Exhibition that Connects Archaeology and Art
March 7, 2025
During the YEAR OF ARCHAEOLOGY 2025 event, various programs will be in focus, aiming to raise awareness of cultural heritage and the significance of archaeology in society 🏛️
The programs we will present throughout the year are part of a collaboration with cultural institutions within the event. These include lectures, exhibitions, and interactive programs for both children and adults, led by experts in archaeology and related disciplines!
On this occasion, we invite you to join us at the opening of the first exhibition organized as part of The Year of Archaeology 2025! 🥳
Ancient artifacts from the National Museum in Kruševac, once objects of cult practice, now come to life in a new visual form through the play of light, shadow, and color!
The exhibition by Jelena Stojković, conservator and restorer at the Museum, and Dr. Ljubiša Vasiljević, archaeologist and museum advisor at the National Museum in Kruševac, places items from the ancient archaeological collection of the Museum into the context of visual art, allowing visitors to experience these objects through a new visual lens. This blend of archaeology and art adds new layers to the historical, cultural, and symbolic value of the exhibited artifacts, making the exhibition interesting both for history enthusiasts and those who enjoy fine arts!
We invite you to join us for the opening of this extraordinary exhibition on March 7th at 1 PM, in the main hall of the National Museum in Kruševac! 🎉
